If you recall, we here at Hey Kid! joined in the fun as our sister site, Juneberry Photo held a contest for the 1,000th fan on her Facebook Page. Well the contest has come and gone and as we spoke with the happy winner, we came to find out that little Alexis loves Disney Princesses! Since we like to incorporate your child's interests into a styled shoot, we ran with the idea of Snow White. We loved the image of a little girl in a forest dreaming and playing in her own little fairy-tale. Alexis was a great little story-teller as we walked through the woods talking about witches, dwarves, and poison apples...she knew the entire story and even sang me a little song as we explored the area. Heather did a great job incorporating outfits that had a Snow White feel yet weren't to obvious and had some interest. At the very end of our session, we let Alexis throw on her full fledged Snow White costume and she was in her element! The little details and small touches really made this shoot for me and I credit Alexis's mom for getting her familiar with the story before we arrived on set. A BIG thank you to Ritchie Rags for sending us the darling white vintage nightgown that you see below. It was so lovely in person and so super soft...I'd wear it! ;) Without further ado , here is our story as it un-folded that special day....
"Once there was a Princess..."
...Who's beauty shone for all to see...
But a wicked Queen had her own plans for the Princess...
-" Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?
- Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee.
- Alas for her! Reveal her name.
- Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow."
So the Princess fled from the Wicked Queen into the woods where she met some new friends...
"If you let me stay, I'll keep house for you. I'll wash and sew and sweep and cook..."
But even rags could not hide her beauty and the Queen came to her with a poison apple....
-"And since you've been so good to poor old Granny, I'll share a secret with you. This is no ordinary apple. It's a magic wishing apple.
- A wishing apple?
-Yes. One bite, and all your dreams will come true.
- Really?
-Yes, girlie. Now, make a wish, and take a bite....."
But alas! A Prince appears to wake Snow White from her sleep...
"Some day when spring is here / We'll find our love anew / And the birds will sing / And wedding bells will ring / Some day when my dreams / Come true. "
...And they lived Happily Ever After....
THE END!
