Day-dreaming with Alexis... {Styled Photo shoot Winner!}

If you recall, we here at Hey Kid! joined in the fun as our sister site, Juneberry Photo held a contest for the 1,000th fan on her Facebook Page. Well the contest has come and gone and as we spoke with the happy winner, we came to find out that little Alexis loves Disney Princesses! Since we like to incorporate your child's interests into a styled shoot, we ran with the idea of Snow White. We loved the image of a little girl in a forest dreaming and playing in her own little fairy-tale. Alexis was a great little story-teller as we walked through the woods talking about witches, dwarves, and poison apples...she knew the entire story and even sang me a little song as we explored the area. Heather did a great job incorporating outfits that had a Snow White feel yet weren't to obvious and had some interest. At the very end of our session, we let Alexis throw on her full fledged Snow White costume and she was in her element! The little details and small touches really made this shoot for me and I credit Alexis's mom for getting her familiar with the story before we arrived on set. A BIG thank you to Ritchie Rags for sending us the darling white vintage nightgown that you see below. It was so lovely in person and so super soft...I'd wear it! ;)  Without further ado , here is our story as it un-folded that special day....

"Once there was a Princess..."
...Who's beauty shone for all to see...
But a wicked Queen had her own plans for the Princess...
-" Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?
- Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee.
- Alas for her! Reveal her name.
- Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow."

 So the Princess fled from the Wicked Queen into the woods where she met some new friends...

"If you let me stay, I'll keep house for you. I'll wash and sew and sweep and cook..."

But even rags could not hide her beauty and the Queen came to her with a poison apple....

-"And since you've been so good to poor old Granny, I'll share a secret with you. This is no ordinary apple. It's a magic wishing apple.
- A wishing apple?
 -Yes. One bite, and all your dreams will come true.
- Really?
-Yes, girlie. Now, make a wish, and take a bite....."

But alas! A Prince appears to wake Snow White from her sleep...

"Some day when spring is here / We'll find our love anew / And the birds will sing / And wedding bells will ring / Some day when my dreams / Come true. "

...And they lived Happily Ever After....

THE END!

Hey Kid! ~ Christmas is near!

Did you know Santa is coming to town? Well, we are ready and waiting...and what better way to celebrate this holiday season than to style some Christmas mini sessions! Heather really did a wonderful job creating some handmade decor for our set and the kids were styled just right. I loved the rustic feel of the location and their was just enough chill in our California air to make it feel like winter has officially arrived! Looking at these photos makes me want to cozy up with my kiddos and hubby next to a roaring fire.... ;) til next time!

"Tom-Boys by Nature" {styled sessions}

Let us introduce our first official clients of "Hey Kid!"... Chase and Morgan! These sisters were the most perfect pair to start off our new adventure into styled sessions. Don't let these beauties fool you though... they can "rough it" with the best of them! As evidenced by the scar Chase has on her forehead from a gymnastics injury, these girls are a mix of pretty and gritty! I was so amazed at all the cool talents these 2 have. They are brilliant gymnasts, fishermen (err... ladies), fashionistas, and have a great sense of humor. When Heather and I started brainstorming about their session, we wanted to incorporate these aspects into their day to really personalize it. After all, that is what these sessions are all about. We style shoots around your child's personality and interests so the session will mean something and create a memory. Since Chase and Morgan love to fish, we instantly thought a lake would be appropriate. Then we needed to punch it up a notch and make it more special, so knowing that the girls also have a love for fashion, Heather pulled some great looks together for them to wear. I just love the cream on white outfits against the girls light hair... it made for a dreamy photo! We hope you enjoy these images as much as we do! Thank you girls for such a beautiful day of fishing and fashion! Oh! And thanks Morgan for giving me some new jokes I can use on future clients! haha! :)

 They could be in a Ralph Lauren ad!

 We had to get mom in for a group photo! They are beautiful together!

Can you tell I couldn't pick just a few favorites?? ;)

Hey! Kid Kenney Rome! {Introductions}

Who we are….

      Hey Kid!! {Kenney Rome} is the brain-child of Jessie Kenney {Juneberry Photo} and Heather Rome {3RingCircus}. We met on a chilly day working an editorial assignment for Babiekins Magazine and instantly clicked. From then on, we have worked on several projects together, developing our style and teamwork. Our combined efforts and creativity earned the attention of bloggers and children’s fashion designers who then contracted us to style and photograph their look books. When thinking about how to make the most of our union, a name naturally came together to create Hey Kid! {Kenney Rome}. As organically as we met, so our company was formed. Hey Kid!!  {Kenney Rome}  is a creative production company specializing in children’s fashion editorials, look books, and catalog work.

        Styled Photo Sessions for the public

What ’s Our Style?

        With a mix of modern and vintage, we embrace companies with a flare for the creative. Out of the box ideas are welcomed here as no two photo shoots are the same. We strive to tell your clothing line’s story through imagery to connect with consumers and buyers alike.

Where Are We Located?

        We serve all counties from San Diego to Los Angeles. Want Hey Kid!! to shoot your next project? We love to travel! {Additional rates may apply}

Why Hey Kid!! {kenney rome}?

        That is simple! Images are a vital part of your companies marketing process. Imagine how many items you would sell without images…probably not that many! A good quality image can make a client or consumer relate to your line and grab their attention. Telling a story through an editorial or in a catalog will pull viewers in and have an emotional reaction to the items they see, making the client want what the model is wearing. With our combined skills in styling, set production, and imagery, we can create a campaign that stands out from the rest! Our children’s editorial experience and backgrounds in the beauty and fashion industries give us awareness to the overall feel of a photo shoot. We also have extensive man hours logged in “kid-wrangling!” With 6 children between the two of us, we have the patience of saints! To break it down, we love what we do and it shows through our work. We will tend to the needs of your company and make it a pleasant experience in the process.
